YEREVAN, APRIL 28, ARMENPRESS: The Forum of Armenian Associations of
Europe (FAAE) has addressed a letter to US President Barack Obama. An
official from the forum told Armenpress that the letter of Ashot
Grigoryan, chairman of the FAAE, particularly runs, "The frank speech
in favor of justice and the usage of the internationally significant
definition of "genocide" would have brought honor to the president
of independent, free and democratic country of the USA.

You did not do that. We will not apply to you with this question any
more. It is pitiful, but our deep disappointment may pass from the
American-Armenians and from all the Armenians throughout the world
to the American electors; a president who does not keep his promise
in such an important issue can be mistaken in other essential issues
as well."

According to the FAAE, the full appraisal of the genocide by the
president would inspire hope to the population of the whole world
that the US President is ready to bravely partake in today’s universal
processes giving right solutions to them.

"Numerous big and small countries of Europe and the world have operated
with suchlike courage. By true appraisal of the genocide, you would
prove that you are faithful to the democratic principles assumed by
the USA and to the free and independent thinking. The act of paying
tribute of honor to the memory of 1, 5 million innocent victims of the
1915 genocide was started by great Hydro Wilson, and it was ratified
by the use of the definition of "genocide" by US President Ronald
Reagan. Your act would not be a news, but would repeat the act of
former, really great presidents," the letter of the forum states.
