TURKISH MGK DISCUSSES ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

Turkish National Security Council (MGK) was convened under the
chairmanship of President Abdullah Gul on April 29, the Anatolian
News Agency reported.

The statement released upon completion of the meeting said the
participants focused on the Armenian Genocide and the remarks made by
certain countries over the issue. "The history of Turkey and Armenia
shared can only be evaluated through an impartial and scientific
approach based on indisputable evidence and documents that are free
of prejudices," it said.

The statement also said that "the resolute fight against terrorism
in compliance with the basic principles of democracy and law will
continue until the danger is removed."
