LAW ENFORCEMENT BODIES, CRIMINAL ELEMENTS, OLIGARCHS ARE WHAT PRINTED MEDIA HAS TO DEAL WITH

There are extremely many problems in the printed media in Armenia and
that there has not been any progress in solving them in the recent 20
years, Chief Editor of local Armenian daily Hraparak Armine Ohanyan
said at a press conference today.
In her words the problems printed media is facing in Armenia today
are related to issues like finances, psychology, moral, physical
protection, realization of the material printed, law, marketing,
as well as daily problems with law enforcement bodies, authorities,
oligarchs and criminal elements.
Anna Hakobyan, Director of the local Armenian daily "Haykakan Jamanak
(Armenian Times) said it was one of the newspapers that has borne
the brunt of all problems in the field of printed media.
"There is not a single problem that has sidestepped HJ [Haykakan
Jamanak]," said Hakobyan, adding that though extremely slow but the
problems the printed media is facing show signs that to be solved.
"The society shows respect for us … but that does not mean that
the problems have diminished," said Hacobyan, adding that they might
increase the print run, should there not be various problems.
