"The first stage of establishing of the Armenian-Turkish relations
is over," said Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum Institute,
Hyke Demoyan, at today’s press conference.
He said that there are at least two reasons why the process of
Armenia-Turkey reconciliation had been failed, and Turkey is at fault
in the failure.
"Turkey preferred do not lose Azerbaijan, its key ally in the
Caucasus," said Demoyan pointing out at the first reason.
And the second reason, according to Hyke Demoyan, is that Turkey’s
expectations failed. In particular, Turkey expected that the process
of the international recognition of the Genocide, committed against
Armenians in 1915, would be brought to a stop; Turkey, in addition,
expected that the process of settlement to the Karabakh conflict will
make progress (to the good of Azerbaijan, obviously).
