“ARMENIANS IN KUWAIT SHOULD BECOME THE PROPRIETORS OF THEIR CHURCH”
Said Aram I In Kuwait
During the dinner in his honor, His Holiness Aram I said that it was time
for the community in the State of Kuwait to own the land of their church.
Historically, wherever Armenians had moved, they had first built a church
and a school. Although in our temporary lives we are tenants of our
institutions. Nevertheless, we are commissioned to make the church our own.
He then added, “The Church is not the clergy alone. The church is the
consensual expression of the clergy and the people, each bringing a
different gift. The essence of the church is service and not authority. Only
through service the church realizes itself.
After a rich cultural programme, Bishop Shahé Panossian and Dr. Bebejian
thanked His Holiness on behalf of the community.
