NKR POLITICAL FORCES DEFEND THE RESPONSE STEPS AGAINST PROVOCATIONS OF AZERBAIJAN

The political forces of the National Assembly of the Nagorno Karabakh
came forth with a statement dedicated to the 17th anniversary of the
establishment of ceasefire regime.
In the statement the political forces of the NKR registered that
unfortunately the Azerbaijani side tried to distort the reality and
put under doubt the fact of legality of the agreement.
“This propagandistic initiative was followed with the tension in
the line of contact as a result of which a peaceful NKR resident was
killed by an Azerbaijani sniper”, the statement said.
In the statement the political forces expressed regret that the
encroachments of Azerbaijan are not being combated by the co-chairs
of the OSCE Minsk Group which is called to be mediator between the
conflicting parties for reaching final peace.
“It gradually becomes obvious for us that the Azerbaijani authorities
are not ready to settle the disputable issue through peaceful
negotiations and are doing everything to sharpen the situation. The
political forces of the NKR National Assembly fully defend the
response steps against the provocations of the enemy. We urge the
OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs to fully apply their mediatory mandate to
restrict the military rhetoric of Azerbaijan. In the opposite case,
the responsibility of the possible sharpening of the situation will
fall on the mediators”, the statement concluded.
