ARMENIAN AUTHORITIES FIGHT AGAINST MONEY LAUNDERING – PM

YEREVAN. – Yerevan holds plenary session of Egmont Group of Financial
Intelligence Units (FIU) on July 11-15.

Representatives of Egmont Group headed by the chair Boudewijn Verhelst
arrived in Armenia. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan welcomed
the guests, government’s press service informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Armenian PM said that Armenia is honored to hold the plenary session
and discuss various issues faced by financial intelligence units of
different states. Armenian authorities pay great attention to the fight
against money laundering and the state’s rating has always been good.

The Egmont Group chair presented the group activity and introduced
issues to be discussed at the plenary session. They will particularly
review current challenges and form a unified network to exchange
information and establish international cooperation concerning fight
against money laundering and terrorism financing.

Armenian PM stressed that exchange of experience on regional and
international levels will contribute to increase of efficient activity
of FIUs member states.
