GUNMEN ROB AND BEAT FORMER MP AND FAMILY

Early this morning a band of 5 armed masked men raided the house of
former RA MP Napoleon Azizyan in the Kilikia district of Yerevan.
Gaining entry into the house by way of the balcony, the gunmen then
beat Mr. Azizyan, his wife Larisa Mikayelyan, and their 26 year-old
daughter Milena.
Threatened with being shot, the homeowners then turned over 3.5 million
AMD, $35,000 and an undisclosed amount of jewellery and diamonds, as
well as six valuable paintings, to the gunmen who then fled the scene.
The police have launched a criminal investigation.
It appears that the wounds suffered by the three victims aren’t
life threatening.
