Head Of Azeri Delegation To Pace Does Not Deny Possibility Of Dialog

HEAD OF AZERI DELEGATION TO PACE DOES NOT DENY POSSIBILITY OF DIALOGUE BETWEEN AZERBAIJAN AND NKR AUTHORITIES

STRASBURG, MAY 3. ARMINFO. Special committee on Nagorny Karabakh
formed within the CE structure is called to implement provisions
of David Atkinson’s appropriate resolution, stated Head of Azeri
delegation to PACE Samed Seidov in an interview to ARMINFO.

He does not deny a dialogue between Azerbaijan authorities and
Nagorny Karabakh leadership as one of articles of the resolution to be
implemented. Seidov noted that the resolution is objective and useful
from the standpoint of finding possible ways of Karabakh conflict
settlement. Nevertheless, remembering resolution’s first point saying
that “territory of Nagorny Karabakh has been long time occupied”,
Seidov noted that “position of Azeri co-citizens residing in Karabakh
should be changed”. He expressed confidence that it will be sooner
or later. “The quicker they come to understanding that people living
in Karabakh are the citizens of Azerbaijan in Azeri territory, the
greater pleasure Azeri side will have to start dialogue with them”,
Seidov noted.

Answering the Armenian politicians’ opinion that if territory of
NKR comes back to Azeri structure, no Armenian people will remain
in its territory, Seidov noted that the issue of providing safety
regards to the competence of both Azeri and Armenian delegations
representatives to the CE as well as international organizations
and structures. “The independent Nagorny Karabakh primordially cannot
exist as it is impossible to tear away any territory by force. Cultural
autonomy and other possible powers may exist, which may have a national
minority”, noted the delegation head and added that the nation’s right
on self-determination in no way violates the territorial integrity
of the state. -r-
