HAILS, WINDS DESTROY CROPS, FLOOD LANDS
YEREVAN, MAY 10, ARMENPRESS: The storm and hail, which visited Armavir
province on May 8, did great damage to crops in several rural communities,
destroying up to 70 percent of crops on some land plots.
The government-affiliated emergency departments said the hail also
destroyed crops in some villages of Ararat province. In Artashat heavy rains
flooded the basements of about 20 houses and land areas near to the houses.
Heavy winds on the same day damaged about 20 houses in Bandival village
of Shirak province tearing off their roofs. One woman was severely damaged
by a collapsed roof. She was taken to hospital.
