Meghri HPS Construction Version To Be Chosen In Next Two Months

MEGHRI HPS CONSTRUCTION VERSION TO BE CHOSEN IN NEXT TWO MONTHS

YEREVAN, MAY 18, NOYAN TAPAN. A meeting of the Armenian-Iranian
Technical Committee on Meghri Hydro Power Station (HPS) Construction
was recently held in Tehran. According to RA Deputy Minister
of Energy Ara Simonian, the process of conducting feasibility
study on HPS construction was discussed at the meeting. It is
envisaged to finish the work within the next two months, after
which the document will be submitted to Energy Ministers of the two
countries. A. Simonian said that a number of construction versions
are under consideration. According to one, Meghri HPS must have a
capacity of 130 megawatts, for which 130 mln USD is needed. To recap,

Sargsian is Armenian Co-Chairman of the Armenian-Iranian Committee
on Meghri HPS Construction.
