The head of the Hydroecology and Ichthyology Institute, Ph.D. Evelina Ghukasyan expressed her concern about the loss of the resources. “According to the last year’s research, the crab resources have been cut twice in Lake Sevan. If this continues, we will have a great loss of resources,” said
“We have an extraction of industrial resources, which is a result of uncontrolled hunting,” says Dr. Bardukh Gabrielyan, Director of the Scientific Center for Zoology and Hydroecology. “Industrial resources have grown by only 100 tones in the last 3 years, reaching 450 tons from 350. If we keep the norms, we will recover the stocks.”
“The water also threatens the fish. Water issue should also be resolved,” says Evelina Ghukasyan.
