Armenian President: The most important task of Hayastan All-Armenian Fund today is consolidation of Armenia and Diaspora

Yerevan May 25

Marianna Mkrtchyan. The most important task of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund today is the consolidation of Armenia and the Diaspora. This was announced by Armenian President Armen Sarkissian at the opening of the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund on May 25, stating that the quorum of the 27th meeting was secured by the presence of 26 of its 37 members.

At the same time, the Armenian President cited the completion of the Vardenis-Martakert road as an example of such consolidation. At the same time, Sargsyan noted that the spring of 2018 was rich in the most important events for Armenia. "I am convinced that 2018 will be historic for Armenia, because of the richness of those important events that are planned in the country, starting from the 100th anniversary of the First Republic to the 2800th anniversary of Erebuni-Yerevan. In the spring of this year we entered a new era of development, moving to the parliamentary form of government, "he said. And in this context, he added that the international authority of Armenia has also increased. According to Sarkissian, the Armenian people demonstrated that they are able to resolve vital problems peacefully and consolidate at important moments of their history, which was clearly demonstrated on April 24 of this year, when the country's citizens, leaving aside important issues, paid tribute to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
