Two weighlifters to represent Armenia in 2020 Olympic Games

The International Weightlifting Federation imposed restrictions on the federations of those countries whose athletes repeatedly were caught using doping after the 2008 Olympic Games.

According to the Polish PSz website, Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Belarus and Armenia in the Olympic Games of 2020 can declare only two weightlifters (one man and one woman), as the participants of these countries have been caught 20 times on the use of doping control in the last 10 years.

And those countries that violated the anti-doping rules 10-19 times, in Tokyo-2020 can submit to 4 athletes (2 men, 2 women). These countries are Ukraine, Turkey, Moldova, Iran, Bulgaria, Albania, Romania, India and Uzbekistan.

According to the source, if the above-mentioned weightlifters  are caught three times in the use of doping before the Olympic Games 2020, they will automatically be deprived of the right to participate in the games.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
