YEREVAN. – More than two dozen people, who have been recruited by the Azerbaijani special services and carried out activities in Armenia by their directive, have been convicted in Armenia, ever since 1993, National Security Service Major Tigran Davitavyan said during a seminar for the media, Armenpress reported.
“These people have worked for Azerbaijan, collected information relating to military and technico-scientific domains, and planned sabotage and murder attempts,” Davitavyan said.
Head of the NSS Scientific-Educational Center, Armen Kinaktsyan, for his part, added that they work with the assumption that these “recruits” are much more in number, and they continue seeking them.
“[But] some of these recruits inform, in timely fashion, about their communication, collaboration with the Azerbaijani side and are relieved of accountability,” Kinaktsyan added.
