Arevik Anapiosyan, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Armenia, was elected as member of the Council of Europe's Steering Committee for Education Policy and Practice (CDPPE) becoming the first official representing Armenia in this authoritative structure.

The 11th plenary session of the Steering Committee for Education Policy and Practice (CDPPE) kicked off on March 19 in Strasbourg. The event was attended by high-ranking officials from 50 states.

Only four of the 50 member states of the Committee are elected by the Bureau, including representatives of the Republic of Armenia.

The work of the session of the Committee on Education Policy of the Council of Europe will end on March 22.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
