Opposition leaders have sharply criticized the ruling Georgian Dream party after the mass riots in—densely-Armenian populated—Akhalkalaki town, News-Georgia reported.
According to the opposition, the increase in crime in Georgia is a result of impunity and selective justice in the country.
The aforesaid riots in Akhalkalaki started Saturday, which were preceded by the murder of a 27-year-old resident of Kulikam village.
The relatives and fellow villagers of the victim had decided to take revenge on the attackers. To this end, they had set fire to a hotel and four houses in downtown Akhalkalaki and damaged several cars.
One person is apprehended on charges of murdering this 27-year-old man.
The mass riots are also being investigated.
Investigation continues to find and apprehend the perpetrators.
