On January 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin, his Azerbaijani counterpart, Iljam Aliyev, and Armenian Prime Minister Nicole Pashynian created a tripartite group to resolve pending matters regarding the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh.
After a meeting in this capital that lasted more than three hours, the three leaders agreed to implement paragraph nine of the joint declaration of November, 2020, to put an end to the fighting between Armenia and Azerbaijan in that mountainous region.
The paragraph deals about unblocking all economic and transport connections in Nagorno-Karabakh, as proposed by the Russian president, the official document of the meeting noted.
The document specified that, no later than March 1, the experts will present a timeline for the implementation of measures related to the restoration and construction of new transport infrastructure facilities in Nagorno-Karabakh.
