The Office of the Prime Minister of Armenia did not comment on why the meeting between the Mayor of Paris and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was canceled.

In response to Armenian News-NEWS.am's inquiry as to why the meeting between Pashinyan and the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, scheduled for May 28, was canceled, the Information and Public Relations Department of the Prime Minister's Office stated that they had no comment on the matter.

Mourad Papazian, Co-President of the Coordination Council of Armenian Organizations of France, had told Hraparak daily of Armenia that at 6pm on May 28, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo was scheduled to meet and have an official dinner with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, but it was canceled at the last minute—and without an explanation.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
