Tbilisi. May 31 (Prime-News) – Withdrawal of equipment from the Russian
military bases in Georgia to Armenia will not stir destabilisation
in the region, Sergey Ivanov, Russian Defence Minister says.

Part of equipment is being withdrawn to the military base in Gyumr
and it can not be a reason for destabilisation, especially when
taking into consideration that withdrawal does not violate the
agreement on limits within the frameworks of the European Convention
on Conventional Armament, Sergey Ivanov said at the meeting of the
CIS defence ministers in Baku.

According to him, the main part of equipment is being withdrawn
to Russia. As for the Russian military base in Batumi, it will be
withdrawn to Russia by ships.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
