DALLAKYAN’S OFFER WILL BE DISCUSSED ON MONDAY
[07:32 pm] 09 June, 2006
«If in a normal country someone like Spartak Eghiazaryan came from
Oshakan and made announcements about electoral fabrications, there
would be a political scandal, a Parliamentary ed-hoc committee would
be created in order to investigate the issue and all the Presidents of
the electoral committees would be summoned to court», secretary of
«Justice» faction Viktor Dallakyan announced during the session
of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs.
Today he represented two legislative initiatives in the Parliament –
«About the creation of a NA ad-hoc committee in order to
investigate the fabrications during the 2003 elections in Armenia»
and «About the creation of a NA ad-hoc committee in order to
investigate the fabrications during the 2006 constitutional referendum
in Armenia».
According to Dallakyan, if the authors of electoral fabrications are
punished, that will prevent the repetition of similar cases. Besides,
Viktor Dallakyan reminded the members of the Committee that the PACE
had offered to investigate the fabrications during the referendum,
«that is to say, it suggested that an ad-hoc committee be
created».
12 members of the Committee participated in the session. Prior to the
voting the representative of the United Labor Party left the
session. Five of the 11 members voted for the legislative initiative
by Viktor Dallakyan, and six voted against. And as far as the votes of
the absolute majority of the Committee are needed in order to adopt a
decision, the offers by Viktor Dallakyan will be discussed during the
plenary session on Monday in order to be included in the agenda.
