DEFENSE MINISTER IS WAITING FOR G8

We have learned from well-informed sources that the timing of the
assembly of the Republican Party was connected with the G8 Summit,
which will be held in St. Petersburg on July 17 and 18. The point is
that the settlement of the conflict over Karabakh will be discussed
during the summit, and it is possible that an important decision will
be made, which may also be unofficial and will not be published. It
is supposed to set long-term policies of the countries, which have
interests in the region or are involved directly or indirectly in
the settlement of the conflict.
Therefore the minister of defense Serge Sargsyan is said not to hurry
to announce about his affiliation with the Republican Party until
the G8 Summit. This is the reason why the assembly will take place
immediately after the summit.
