INTENDANCE REFERENDUM IN SOUTH OSSETIA

According to Informational and Publication Committee of the South
Ossetia, a referendum will be held in this country in November 12,
2006. Besides, de facto presidential elections will be held there. The
following issue will be included in the agenda of the referendum:
"Do you want the republic of the South Ossetia to preserve its current
independence status and be recognized by the international community?"

The Foreign Ministry of Georgia considers that such a referendum
will add tension to the inner situation of the country and will lead
to destabilization.
