MODERNIZED FOIL PLANT "RUSAL-ARMENAL" CJSC PLANS TO WORK AT FULL
CAPACITY IN MAY 2007
Yerevan, January 31. ArmInfo. The foil plant "Rusal-Armenal" CJSC plns
to work at full capacity in May, 2007, and to monthly produce about
2,1-2,3 thsd tons of foil per month, the Director General of the
Company, Georgy Avetikyan, said at a press-conference today.
According to him, the plant’s full capacity makes up 25,000 tons of
foil per year, including 18,000 tons of hyperfine foil below 9-6,35
microns. The Director informed that the Company has produced 510 tons
of foil in January, it schedule s to produce 600-650 tons of foil in
February and 1,000 tons in March.
He noted that in 2006 the plant had produced 949,7 tons of foil. In
December, the production sale volume exceeded the similar indicator of
the previous months, 2006. The Armenian foil is exported to Europe,
USA, Iran. It is also realized in the internal market in a small
quantity. According to the Director General, the Company has no
problems with the product realization. According to estimations of
specialists, the "Rusal-Armenal" CJSC meets 2,5% of the world demand
of foil.
To note, the complex modernization of the whole foil production at
"Rusal-Armenal" CJSC was carried out by the German Achenbach
Buschhutten Company. The amount of investments of "Rusal" made up
about $80 mln. The "Armenal" CJSC has been created in May, 2000, on
the basis of the Kanaker aluminum plant (KanAz) as a joint venture
with participation of the "Russian Aluminum" Company and "KanAz". The
"Armenal" has joined the "Rusal" in 2000.
