SAINT ETIENNE, FEBRUARY 13, NOYAN TAPAN – ARMENIANS TODAY. The
Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia headed by Eduard Topchian performed
at the Masne Opera Theater of the city of Saint Etienne, France,
on February 10. At the concert organized within the framework of the
Year of Armenia to France, where Ambassador Edvard Nalbandian, the
administration of the Loire valley of France, Saint Etienne Mayor,
Senator Michel Thiolliere, senators, deputies, mayors of other cities
of the region, the spectators greeted the orchestra performances
with standing applauses and ovations. As Noyan Tapan was informed
by the RA Foreign Ministry’s Press and Information Department,
Aram Khachaturian’s and Jean Sibelius’ works were in the pivot of
the program. World famous young violinist Sergey Khachatrian was
the soloist. He will perform with the orchestra on February 14,
in Ici le Moulin as well. Before that, on February 6 and 8, the
Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia performed in Nice and Vendee. Other
four concerts are envisaged during the coming week, on February 11 in
Lyon, on February 12 in Vienna, on February 13 in Marseilles and on
February 14 in Ici le Moulin. Pianist Vardan Mamikonian accompanied
the Philharmonic Orchestra in Vendee, and pianist Vahan Martirosian
accompanied in Lyon and Marseilles. They both are famous in France.
