One more hotel will be assigned a star by the ministry of trade and
economic development. Mekhak Apresyam, tourism department head of the
ministry, said Ani hotel submitted an application to receive stars
and soon he will be named a 4 star hotel.

Apresyan said other hotels are trying to meet the standards before
they apply for stars.

Only three hotels, Golden Palace (5 star) Metropol (4 star) and
Congress (3 star), have stars now.

Despite of existing regulations, some hotels use star names without
permission. The law requires the pay 200 times of the minimum salary
in fine for doing that. However, Apresyan said they do not want to
be very strict in regulations.
