SAMSUN POLICE CHIEF WAS PRESENT IN ROOM WHERE IMAGES OF DINK MURDERER WERE TAKEN

and video images taken of Agos Armenian-Turkish newspaper editor
Hrant Dink’s killer, 17 year old Ogun Samast, in the Samsun
police station directly after his capture, talking, being offered
cigarettes, and posing in front of the Turkish flag with security
force members. Yesterday, two inspectors sent from Ankara to look
into the incident said they have determined that the Samsun Police
Chief, Mustafa Ilhan, and one prosecutor were also in the police
station’s tearoom where the images were taken; in total, 13 people
were reportedly present while Samast was in the room. One high level
authority from the police headquarters said that disciplinary action
taken against Ilhan may go as far as dismissal from his post in Samsun,
reports Hurriyet newspaper.
