Representative of Armenia at Eurovision-2007 to be known on February 25

The representative of Armenia at the Eurovision-2007 song contest to
be held in Helsinki will be chosen on February 25 at the final stage
of the competition. The preliminary rounds will take place today and
tomorrow. Six male and six female singers will be chosen from among 20
applicants. Two of the finalists in each group will be chosen by the
jury, one will be selected by viewers through SMS voting. In the final
the jury will choose the one to represent Armenia at Eurovision-2007.
It’s worth mentioning that applications to participate in the contest
have been submitted not only from Armenia, but also from Armenians
abroad. The songs are mostly in English, two of the songs are
bilingual. The contest will be aired live on the Public TV of Armenia
at 19:00.
Let us remind that the representative of Armenia will go directly to
the final of Eurovision-2007, since Andre representing Armenia last
year was included in the top ten. Representatives of 42 countries
will participate in the contest, 14 of which will go directly to the
final. The semi-final will take place on May 10.
