AZERBAIJANI PROPAGANDA’S OLD LIE
A lot of materials concerning the events in Hojalu have been
published in the Azeri press. The Azeri journalists mention the issue
of February 26 will be discussed in the Turkey’s Parliament.
According to the Azeri mass media, the Turkish Parliament may adopt a
resolution recognizing the events in Hojalu as Genocide.
What aim does Turkey and Azerbaijan pursue?
Talking to KarabakhOpen, the NKR NA Democracy Parliamentarian Faction
leader Vahram Atanesian noted, `’As far as I know, February 27
Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis will call a special sitting to make a
statement on the events in Hojalu. Naturally, Turkey will take
advantage of the situation to make propaganda parallel in connection
with the Armenian Genocide issue’s discussion at the U. S. Congress.
I think it is a purely propaganda step undertaken by Turkey, though I
do not rule out that we face the Turkish-Azeri Parliamentarians’
solidarity. I do not believe Turkey as a serious country will
recognize the events in Hojalu as Genocide – it would be funny, and
yet will not produce a positive effect in the Turkey’s history”.
According to Vahram Atanesian, the issue’s discussion at such a level
is not serious, as the figures published by the Azeri party are hard
to believe.
