AZERI TV SAYS PRO-ARMENIAN US CONGRESSMEN BACK JAILED EX-MINISTER

Pro-Armenian congressmen have risen to support [jailed former Economic
Development Minister] Farhad Aliyev. Eight congressmen have urged US
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to raise before the Azerbaijani
government the issue of releasing Farhad Aliyev.
Radio Liberty said that the appeal had been signed by Tom Lantos,
Robert Cramer, Lloyd Doggett, Diane Watson, James McGovern, Gary
Ackerman, Jan Schakowsky and Frank Pallone.
We must note that pro-Armenian Frank Pallone, who is on the list,
is the author of Section 907 [of the Freedom Support Act, restricting
direct US government aid to the Azerbaijani government].
