PRESIDENT KOCHARYAN MET WITH RA PROSECUTOR GENERAL

President Robert Kocharyan had a working meeting with RA Prosecutor
General Aghvan Hovsepyan.
The Prosecutor General presented to the President the process of
investigation of the cases connected with the elections. According
to his data, to now 23 cases have been brought to the Prosecutor’s
Office, which are directly or indirectly linked to the electoral
process. Criminal cases have been launched connected with the six
of these.
Aghvan Hovsepyan said a special workgroup in the Prosecutor’s Office
collects, checks and instigates all the cases. They also check the
reports in media and check whether these are connected with the
elections. Aghvan Hovsepyan said some citizens or parties are trying
to politicize some cases.
During the meeting reference was made also to the activity of
the Coordinating Council of the CIS Prosecutor Generals. Aghvan
Hovsepyan informed that the next meeting of the Council will take
place in Yerevan.
