TERRITORIES TO LIBERATE WERE NOT CHOSEN AT RANDOM

During the war in Artsakh the territories were liberated to guarantee
security because on the other side there were subdivisions ready
to attack Karabakh at any moment, said the first commander of the
Karabakh force Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan (Commandos) in an interview with
the KarabakhOpen. The reporter asked Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan who led
the operation of the liberation of Shushi to answer the question why
the territories were liberated which are still speculated in Armenia
and Azerbaijan from the point of view of the military.
According to Commandos, the goals was not the liberation of territories
but the destruction of the fire emplacements, the weapon of the foe,
which endangered further existence of Karabakh. "At that time the
question of creation of an area of security around Karabakh was
urgent. Everything was estimated and planned, the entire system
worked for the goal. The territories to liberate which had to be
neutralized were not chosen at random. Now these territories guarantee
our security. I am saying this as military. Politicians apparently
have another opinion," said Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan.
The chief of the headquarters of the defense squads of Nagorno-Karabakh
Felix Gzokhyan said these territories guarantee the security of not
only Karabakh but also Armenia.
