AGHALI ALISHOV: I COULD NOT BEAR ARMENIANS’ SAYING ‘KARABAKH IS OUR’

Aghali Alishov, who was injured during the incident between Azerbaijani
and Armenian students at the People’s Friendship University after
Patricia Lumumba in Moscow, is getting better. He told APA he is to
be released from hospital next week.

According to Aghali Alishov, Russian law-enforcement officers asked
him some questions at the hospital and will interrogate him after
he is released. Aghali Alishov said Russian barrister Namig Azimov
defended him on his own will.

"They wanted to wave the flag of so called Nagorno Karabakh republic.

I asked them not to do it, explaining them there is no need for it.

They insisted on their action and I did not want to answer them
at first. I though I could create problems for my friends studying
there. I do not study there but I have sport hall near the People’s
Friendship University. They offended me. I bore that. But when they
offended Azerbaijan saying "We will wave this flag in the whole
Azerbaijan", "Karabakh is our" I replied them. When they attempted to
beat me with the handle of flag I seized the flag and tore it. This
moment three fires were opened on me. One of them injured my stomach".

Aghlai Alishov said he did not know who fired at him but wants to
punish the guilty people. "I suppose this issue will be at the centre
of Azerbaijani government’s attention. This was well thought-out
provocation. So the events should be evaluated objectively".

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
