UNESCO is working in the direction of sending a special monitoring
mission to investigate the state of Armenian monuments in Nakhijevan.

Let us remind that in 2005 the Armenian cemetery of Jugha was
demolished by Azeri soldiers, and later a firing range was built on
the place of the cemetery.

Representative of the Public Relations Department of UNESCO Roni
Amelan told Armenpress that the terms and routes are being clarified
with the Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Azerbaijan.

The Azeri side demands that the mission visits Nagorno Karabakh
as well.

According to Roni Amelan, it’s not known so far whether the demand
of the Azeri side will be satisfied or not.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
