AVERAGE DAILY AMOUNT OF CASH PAYMENTS BY ARMENIAN BANKS GROWS BY 9.2 BILLION DRAMS IN FIRST QUARTER OF 2007 ON SAME PERIOD OF LAST YEAR AND MAKES 10.3 BLN DRAMS

YEREVAN, MAY 23, NOYAN TAPAN. Cash payments by Armenian commercial
banks in the first quarter of 2007 made up 47% of the total amount
and 0.56% of the total number of payments.

According to data of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA), the average
daily number of cash payments made 174 transfers, their amount –
10.3 bln drams (over 28.6 mln USD). The average daily amount of cash
transfers grew by 9.2 bln drams on the first quarter of 2006, the
average amount of a transfer – by 51.8 mln drams to 59.7 mln drams. The
growth of cash payments is conditioned by financial operations. In
the first quarter of 2007, 12 cash transfers of the total amount of
4.9 bln drams were made among Armenian commercial banks.
