VANDALS PAINT SWASTIKAS ON ARMENIAN GRAVESTONES IN STAVROPOL REGION

Police in Krasnokumsky, Russia (Stavropol region) have detained four
people in connection with the vandalization of 40 Armenian gravestones,
according to a May 22, 2007 report by the Russian Jewish web site
Jewish.ru. The accused vandals allegedly painted swastikas on the
gravestones, yet do not face hate crimes charges. Instead they face
charges of "mocking the bodies of the dead and the places of their
burial."
