China’s Zheng Zhisheng, 20, won the gold medal of men’s over 69kg
class with a total of 325kg, adding the sixth title into China’s golden
haul at the Junior World Weightlifting Championships here on Tuesday.

It is a perfect ending of the day for the Chinese team after Li Xueyin
won three gold medals of women’s over 58kg class with a total of 225kg,
102kg in the snatch and 123kg in the clean and jerk competition.

"I am satisfied with my performance today, I’d try my best to do
better in the future," Li said.

Zheng, the championships rookie, snatched 145kg and got the first
place in men’s over 69kg class, where compatriot Tang Fei, 18 won
the clean and jerk category at 181kg.

Mirzoyan Arayik from Armenia got the bronze medal.

Ma Wenguang, president of the Chinese Weightlifting Association, said
that half of the Chinese players are new members of the national team,
and the others are from regional teams.

"We want to take the chance to discover new talents, and also to let
the young athletes gain international competition experience in order
to prepare for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing," Ma said.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
