PRIMATE’S VISIT TO VENTURA COMMUNITY
On June 4th, 2007, we are happy to announce that the primate made his
second pastoral visit to the Armenian-American community of Camarillo.

On the evening of Wednesday, June 6th, 2007 the Los Angeles – Yerevan
Sister City Association hosted its first event at Gavar Resteraunt in
Hollywood.

VISIT TO ARMENIAN CHURCH OF RANCHO MIRAGE
On June 6th, 2007, His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian attended a
reception at the Kurkjian Hall of the Armenian Church of the
Desert. Present where members of the community, members of the Rancho
Mirage City Council, as well as Mayor Hobart.

MEETING WITH MANOUGIAN-DEMIRDJIAN AGBU SCHOOL TRUSTEES
On the evening of Thursday, June 7th, 2007, the Primate met with
Trustees from the Manougian-Demirdjian AGBU School.

Burbank City Council member Gary Bric, and Police Commissioner Hagop

PRIMATE TO ATTEND ARMENIAN BONE MARROW WALK-A-THON
On Saturday His Eminence Arcbishop Hovnan Derderian, along with Vicar
General Very Rev. Fr. Dajad Yardemian, as well as Deacons Vahe Abovian
and Mayis Shahbazyan will participate in the Second Annual Armenian
Bone Marrow Walk-A-Thon at Glendale High School.

On Sunday June 10th, 2007, the Primate will celebrate Divine Liturgy
and offer the sermon at St. Mary Armenian Church of Costa Mesa on the
occasion of the 15th anniversary of the parish’s consecration.

DIOCESE TO OFFICIALLY OPEN BAIDZAR TURPANJIAN BOOKSTORE
On Thursday, June 14th, 2007, His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan
Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese, will officially open the
Baidzar Turpanjan Bookstore located at Diocesan Headquarters in
Burbank, CA.

BFA TO HOST DINNER/DANCE FUNDRAISER WITH HAROUT PAMBOUKJIAN
On June 15th, 2007, the Brighter Future for Armenian mission of the
Western Diocese will be co-hosting a fundraiser that will raise funds
for scholarships for young people in Armenia.

PRIMATE BEGINS ARARAT HOME INITIATIVE
The Western Diocese is pleased to announce that it has begun an
initiative to provide full pastoral care to the residents of the
Ararat Home for the Elderly in Mission Hills, as well as Eagle Rock.

The Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America, providing
spiritual guidance and leadership to the Armenian Apostolic community,
is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, tax-exempt organization comprised of 47
churches in 16 western states. It was established in 1898 as the
Diocese of the Armenian Church encompassing the entire United States
and Canada. In 1927 the Western Diocese was formed to exclusivly serve
the western United States.
