LAUNCHING OF BOOK "MY HOUSE IS YOUR HOUSE" BY WRITER-PUBLICIST ARTASHES KALANTARIAN TAKES PLACE AT YSU

YEREVAN, JUNE 15, NOYAN TAPAN. The launching of collection
under the title "My House is Your House" by renowned journalist,
writer-publicist, satirist Artashes Kalantarian took place on June
15 at the Journalism Faculty of Yerevan State University (YSU). The
book includes writer’s novels and tales, plays, stories and articles.

"A. Kalantarian was one of the best journalists of Soviet years. His
name is inseparably connected with the history of Armenian journalism
of second half of 20th century," faculty Dean Garnik Ananian said. In
his words, thanks to A. Kalantarian, Vardges Petrosian, Viktor Balayan
after the Khrushchov thaw journalism, particularly, genres of publicist
articles, satirical articles developed in Armenia.

It was mentioned that on the occasion of A. Kalantarian’s 75th birth
anniversary his story under the title "Republic’s Model Citizen"
was staged at Yerevan Theater of Young Spectator. Its premiere
will take place on June 24. G. Ananian said that the auditorium
named after the writer, having opened at YSU on the initiative of
writer’s son, Alexander Kalantarian, will be soon replenished with
computers. A. Kalantarian stipend will be also instituted at the
journalism faculty on his initiative from today.

Lavrenty Mirzoyan, Head of RA State Language Inspection, said that by
the end of the year, on the initiative of Tavush Compatriotic Union,
one of the classrooms of village of Choratan, Tavush region, will be
also named after the writer.
