ARMENIAN FOREIGN MINISTER: WE ARE SURE THAT COOPERATION WITH NATO WILL DEEPEN AND DEVELOP

Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan said at the joint
press-conference with special representative of NATO secretary general
for the Caucasus and Central Asia Robert Simmons that he is sure that
cooperation with NATO will deepen and develop.
Greeting the guest the minister said that today’s visit of
Robert Simmons will become an additional motive for development of
relations. He also added that the meeting with Simmons was interesting
and fruitful, and the issues of bilateral relations, regional and
security problems were discussed by them. He thanked Simmons for the
given information and for analyzing some issues. Oskanyan also said
that over the meeting they touched on the Karabakh conflict settlement
process, and he informed Robert Simmons about the present stage
of the process, about the meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani
presidents in St.Petersburg and about further possible development
of events. They also touched on the Kosovo issue, on the problem
of the American anti-aircraft defence system location in Europe,
on peace-making actions of NATO and participation of Armenia in the
peace-making mission in Kosovo.
