YEREVAN MUNICIPALITY TAKES STEPS TO IMPROVE TRADE AND SERVICES

YEREVAN, June 25. /ARKA/. Yerevan municipality takes steps to improve
the situation with trade and services in the city, Karen Gevorgyan,
chief of the municipality unit in charge of trade and services,
said Monday at a news conference.

He said that commissions are set up for that. In his words,
representatives of agriculture and healthcare ministries as are
included in the commissions.

"A special emphasis is put on perishable foods, soft drinks and
ice-cream", Gevorgyan said adding that some kind are already banned.

Those legal entities breaching the rules will be fined AMD 10thnd to
50thnd ($30 to 145).

"I am calling for Yerevan residents not to buy anything from street
vendors, since this is the most effective way of struggle against
this phenomenon", he said.
