The NKR presidential candidate Masis Mayilyan continues to meet
with voters.

Recently he has had meetings in Shushi ad several neighborhoods of
the capital, as well as with the staff of The HALO Trust. The voters
raise the issues of salaries and benefits, jobs, housing, as well as
the basic human rights.

The staff of The HALO Trust raised the issue of length of service for
retirement. "We do a dangerous and necessary job risking our lives,
whereas our years of service are not counted for social insurance,"
said one of the workers, who wanted to learn the opinion of the
presidential candidate. Masis Mayilyan said there are mechanisms
which enable the government to solve this question very easily.

It is notable that in all the meetings people say they have stopped
trusting the government. And everywhere people wonder if Masis
Mayilyan is going to be as unavailable as the present officials. The
presidential candidate said there is a watershed between the government
and people, which is unacceptable because "the people working in the
government get a salary from the taxes paid by people."

The candidate says reforms are necessary in all the spheres of life.

"The law must be applied, everyone must be equal before the law. I
think in this case everyone will feel protected, and we will feel we
belong this country. If so, we all will be able to change something
in the country," Masis Mayilyan said.

He also assured that he will be available if he is elected and will
hold meetings with people in different parts of the country, companies,
neighborhoods, elsewhere.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
