The PACE report on the results of monitoring of the parliamentary
elections in Armenia somewhat differs from the previous document in a
negative sense, member of the Armenian delegation to the Parliamentary
Assembly of the Council of Europe, representative of ARF Dashnaktsutyun
Armen Rustamyan told ArmInfo.
Nevertheless, on the whole, the report of the Dutch parliamentarian was
balanced and repeated the positive trend noticed by the international
observers, Armen Rustamyan added. "It is noted in the report that
the Armenian authorities demonstrated political will to correct the
shortcomings of the previous elections. Although measures were taken to
improve the elections, there are still some unsolved issues," he said.
Speaking about the negative sides of the report, Armen Rustamyan
noted that the report points to the shortcomings registered during
the parliamentary elections connected with counting of ballots and
making tables. "It casts a shadow on the preliminary evaluation of
the observers," the parliamentarian noted.
