/PanARMENIAN.Net/ The EU resumed talks with Turkey on two chapters,
namely statistics and financial control.

France has vetoed the economic and monetary union chapter. French
President Sarkozy did not change his viewpoint and insists that
"Turkey has no place in Europe," RIA Novosti reports.

In 2006 talks on science and research chapter were completed. Late
March 2007 the EU and Turkey opened talks on enterprises and industry.

However, in December 2007 Brussels suspended talks on 8 chapters,
after Turkey’s refusal to open air and sea ports for Cyprus.

The negotiation agenda includes 35 chapters in all.
