CONSTRUCTION OF THE SECOND SECTION OF IRAN-ARMENIA GAS PIPELINE UNDERWAY

The construction of the second section of Iran-Armenia gas pipeline
is underway, Armenian Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan told Armenian
MPs today.

He said that the flow capacity of the second section is being
increased.

Armenia is ready to consider the possibility of using the pipeline
as a transit route but this would require serious financing.

To remind, the construction of the second section is being carried
out by ArmRosgazprom. The company is going to spend on this project
almost $140mln, to be received from the issue of additional shares.
