YEREVAN, JUNE 27, NOYAN TAPAN. Violations connected with the signing
of working contracts are mainly registered in the sphere of employment
in Armenia and,in particular, in employer-employee relations. This
statement was made by Artsvik Minasian, an MP of the National Assembly
and the former RA Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, at the
June 27 press conference. He mentioned that indistinct formulations
of working contracts allow both employers and employees to make
violations. These violations mainly concern the determination of
working time, salaries, and, especially, overtime payment.

Confederation of Armenia, the signing of working contracts for a

according to the confederation’s data, the duration of working time
is mainly violated in the service sphere.

working conditions are created in the sphere of construction. Arsen
Ghazarian, the Chairman of the Union of manufacturers and employers
of Armenia, mentioned that if there were numerous cases of employees’
exploitation five to six years ago, the picture is quite different

of construction increased for three times during the last two years

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
