Yerevan "Njdeh" Team Takes Second Place In "Tavriz – 2007" Volleybal

YEREVAN "NJDEH" TEAM TAKES SECOND PLACE IN "TAVRIZ – 2007" VOLLEYBALL INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT

TAVRIZ, JULY 11, NOYAN TAPAN. The "Tavriz – 2007" Women’s International
Volleyball Tournament was held in Iran from July 2 to 6 and six teams
took part. The "Njdeh" team of the State Medical College of Yerevan
represented the Republic of Armenia. The first representative of
Iran became the winner of the tournament with five points. Njdeh
took second place with 4 points, and finally, third place was taken
by the representative team of Pakistan with three points.

Shoghik Balian was recognized as the best participant of the tournament
among the female Armenian volleyball players. Liana Gevorgian was
awarded with the "Comprehensive volleyball player" prize.

The tournament was a preparatory stage for the teams of Iran, Pakistan,
and Saudi Arabia before the Asian games to be held in Thailand. As
for Yerevan Njdeh, they are preparing for the fourth All Armenian
games to be held in Yerevan on August 18.
