KARABAGH TO ELECT ITS LEADER TOMORROW

Tomorrow, July 19, presidential elections will be held in the
Nagorno-Karabagh Republic. To note, the forthcoming elections will be
the forth presidential elections held during the years of independence.

5 nominees will run for the post, however, according to local
observers, the main struggle will be held between ex Director of NKR
National Security Service Bako Sahakian and Deputy FM Masis Mailian.

According to the Republic Electoral Code, the elections are
considered to take place in case not less than 25 % of the voters have
participated in the elections. The nominee, who will receive the votes
of over a half of electors, will be considered elected to the post.

About 100 international observers, in part, from Russia, Ukraine,
U. S., Germany, France, Belgium, Greece, Holland and Serbia will
follow the course of the elections. Over 100 journalists have been
registered at the CEC, 50 of which represent foreign mass media.
