AEPLAC, the Armenian-European Policy and Legal Advice Centre, has
published its traditional "Annual Economic Report – 2006."

The "Annual Economic Report – 2006" contains in-depth analyses of
the main macroeconomic developments in Armenia during 2006, with
extensive international comparisons.

The analyses cast a light upon key topics such as composition,
structure and per capita levels of the GDP, and a sectored structure
of the outputs, which includes industrial production, agriculture,
construction and other sectors.

These are followed by chapters related to inflation, labour market,
financial/banking sectors, the state budget, external debt, and
developments in the external sector.

On 26 July 2007 AEPLAC is making a presentation of the Report to the
public at an event which will host members of the Government, MPs,
representatives of diplomatic missions, international organizations,
businesses, education and science, and the civil society.

Guest speakers to the event will be Mr. Nerses Yeritsyan, Minister
of Trade and Economic Development of Armenia and Mr. Aristomene
Varoudakis, Country Manager, The World Bank Armenia.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
