What consequences might the introduction of the NKR conflict into
the UN General Assembly agenda have?

"The involvement of the issue into the General Assembly agenda does
not imply that the NKR conflict will be considered by the United
Nations Organisation," Acting Spokesman of RA Ministry of Foreign
Affairs Vladimir Karapetyan Vladimir Karapetyan stated.

"Azerbaijan’s attempts to bring the discussions on the Karabakh
conflict solution outside the current format exert negative influence
on the settlement process and speak about the lack of will in
Azerbaijan to reach a lasting solution of the conflict."

To note two issues related to the Karabakh conflict are included into
the UN GA 61st agenda. One of them was presented by Azerbaijan and
the other – by GUAM.

According to Vladimir Karapetyan the issues will be considered during
the next session.

Vladimir Karapetyan reminded that none of these issues was discussed,
and according to the organization’s rules of procedure, the issues
are automatically transferred to the the next session.

"A question enters the agenda only in case of existence of a
corresponding resolution or decision, which, however, can be protested
by any member-country. In case the voting fails, the question is not
introduced in the agenda," the RA MFA Spokesman stated.
